Just for an update, my recent session with Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Kedah (Kedah State Development Corporation). I had 2 sessions with them, one is for the Board Of Excos, a very fast one at that. It was done at Wisma PKNK, after the board had their meeting. I used a simple shoot and go method, whereby the only contribution light would be from my hotshoe flash bounced into the ceiling *ngee*.
However, the 2nd session was done in Regency Hotel on top of Mount Jerai for the Board of Directors (BOD). I brought together 2 assistants, eman and amin. We arrive a day before to do some equipment preparations. Accidentally, the 2nd session was split into 2 parts on an adhoc request. The first one was done before the BOD stepped into the conference room outside the hotel’s main facade. There’s a single light source for this one (well, apart from the bright sunlight behind that very buildling) to lit the subjects using a loaned unit of Profoto 7b 1200Ws attached with a strip softbox (yes, I used a strip) sizing at 180x40cm from directphoto.
The second part was the actual planned shot. I used 1 SB900 and 1 SB800 attached with an umbrella, placed on both sides of the subjects’ position left and right. I used the same Profoto 7b 1200Ws attached with a strip softbox as the keylight.
I’ve got to admit it was a tiring process handling the whole session. But I guess it’s fun receiving challenges from time to time. You should try it too at times!
I think that’s about it to tell. Don’t forget to leave comments
