So, Kedah managed to secure a goal minutes before the final whistle blew off ending the match with UPB MyTeam tonight. Afif was the prime scorer for the match. Thanking him and the team, Kedah assured the vital 3 points in the Super League standing.

Tonight, I brought Aki as a backup photographer to cover the match. But, there’s a tiny little story behind it. We arrived at the stadium approximately at 1830, early, as I needed to prepare him for the shoot. We entered from the front Astaka Utama entrance. I proceeded to go in first, then Aki followed me from behind. However, he was stopped by this so-called security guard at the doorway, stating that he’s not allowed to wear sandal following through that entrance.

When I look at what he’s wearing, I swear I’m very annoyed by the security guard’s ignorance. Aki was wearing clogs and clogs is a type of shoe. So I went at him and told him that he’s wearing shoes whilst he started to keep arguing, raising his voice and yelling at me that those are a pair of sandals. The best part was, it’s not even 7pm just yet! Pissed as I was dealing with stupidity I guided Aki through another entrance. You don’t teach cows, they’re just there to be slaughtered and consumed.

The security guard is an old hag (but he’s a man, can’t find the word to describe, so yes .. hag :P ). He has yet to realize that this is 2009, not 1969. There’re thousands of fashion designed shoes after his time. KFA should stop appointing ignorance people into the association. Those old hags, if they wanted to remain in such a place, should keep upgrading themselves from time to time. If they’re not fit (physically, mentally and intellectually), they should not carry any more task they used to be carrying. It would definitely tarnish the image of the organization they’re working with somehow or other.

On the day of the match, when the football players were having their final rest before the match, Fakhrul, Hadi, Nazri, Pak Su and I made a visit to Chu Chi Tunnel. I’d recommend you to read more at Wikipedia about Chu Chi Tunnel and what is it like to the modern Vietnam today.

From the inside

The journey took approximately an hour from the resort we were staying.

Nothing much to be told here. I have already captioned the pictures so many of you would understand well what they are. Don’t forget to leave comments!

We arrived at LCCT via Airasia at about 1130. The flight supposed to be taking off at 1055 local time from Tan Son Nhat International Airport. That’s 35 minutes late comparatively to our 5 minutes late (refer to this entry). So, Airasia was indeed late. However, they did not even compensate on their very own lateness. KFA however, lost approximately RM24K in regards to the previous lateness at checking in.

Oh yes, Airasia is so good at making money that they will squeeze you till your blood surge through your brains and pops out through your eyes! That’s how they make their money – ensuring lives at the most painful of all pains. But yeah, we safely arrived at LCCT at about 1430 local time :P

We took a connecting flight from LCCT to Alor Setar at 1620 and arrived at 1720. Enjoy the strobist images and don’t forget to leave comments!

So, everyone knows about the explosive blow the Vietnamese club, Becamex Binh Duong (BBD) gave to Kedah just a while ago. The final score was 8-2. Kedah did put up a fight. However, it wasn’t enough. Beneath the result, there’s a meaning that needs to be translated, and it needs to be translated fast!

dsc_5616

The maturity of football that being seriously demonstrated by BBD tonight was somewhat a good lesson to Kedah in drawing the next path in championship quest and glorious football history.

I’ve got to say that their imports really shine at the match. I know quite a number would argue with me that Kedah can survive without import players, yadda yadda yadda. Reality is, we are in the ‘syok sendiri’ cocoon where the rest of the world population has been practicing imports into their football scene.

And it will always be a reality that imports provide the internal challenge and education in within the team bringing the knowhow and spirit from whatever experience they’ve gathered. We cannot deny that they’re exposing knowledge and skills to the local football players whilst spending time playing for their respective teams. Football development is not about rewinding into history that was badly written. Sadly, that’s what the football government in Malaysia is doing.

Oh, by the way, nobody touched the crocodile. *Note – if you don’t understand, browse the pictures :P
